All YPP applications are serviced in the order they’re received by us. Keep in mind delays are possible due to higher-than-usual application volumes, system issues, or resource limitations. Our team will review your channel as a whole to check whether your channel meets our YouTube channel monetization policies. After choosing how you want to monetize, you’ll be able to manage ad preferences, turn on monetization for your uploads, and more. To turn on monetization features, you’ll need to review and accept the relevant module terms. If it meets our policies and guidelines, we’ll accept your channel into YPP.
You’ll get an email once you’ve met either of the below eligibility thresholds. Once you understand what you need to join, your channel can become eligible for YPP with either Shorts or long-form video. Valid public Shorts views

If you’ve met the threshold and applied for YPP, we’ll still review your channel for YPP suitability. Your channel also must not have any active Community Guidelines strikes in order to apply. Every channel that meets the threshold will go through a standard review process. Current members of the program won't be removed when receiving Community Guidelines strikes. You can also apply after you've successfully appealed to have your Community Guidelines strikes removed. If you have active Community Guidelines strikes on your channel, you can apply after your strikes expire.
Once you apply, your channel will go through a standard review process to see whether your channel meets our policies and guidelines. Once you qualify for the higher eligibility criteria for YPP, you will be eligible to receive a share of the revenue from ads served on your content. Our automated systems and human reviewers will review your channel as a whole to make sure your channel follows all of our policies and guidelines. Keep in mind we continuously check channels in YPP to make sure they continue to meet our policies and guidelines over time.
These thresholds help us make a more informed decision about whether your channel meets our policies and guidelines.
